Researchers at the IBVF uncover key mechanisms in light and temperature coordinated signaling in photosynthetic organisms

Researchers at the IBVF, Federico Valverde, Francisco Romero-Campero, Christina Arvanitidou, and Fernando Rodríguez-Marín, from the groups “Environmental Regulation and Epigenetics of Plant Development” and “Systems Biology and Biotechnology in Microalgae” have published an article in the prestigious international journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).

The study, led by CSIC Research Professor Miguel Ángel Blázquez, describes the evolution of light and temperature coordinated signaling from algae to plants. This research contributes to a better understanding of plant responses to global climate change and may have important implications for plant biotechnology.
