Scientific Culture
The Scientific Culture Service aims to communicate the science made in the IBVF to society. We have a Scientific Culture Committee that coordinates activities related to this area and provides materials for scientific ateliers:

- Observation of microorganisms under a microscope: optical microscope, coverslips, slides, Pasteur pipettes.
- Spherification of plant-based foods: bowls, strainers, syringes, CaCl2, sodium alginate.
- Puzzles representative of our work at the IBVF: puzzles and their explanations.
- Cultivation of microorganisms of everyday life: Petri dishes, solid LB medium.
- Chlorophyll extraction: Eppendorf tubes, Pasteur pipettes, ethanol, P-1000 tips.

The Scientific Culture activities of the IBVF comprise a series of varied events, mainly the following:

- Participation in the Science Fair (May), the European Plant Fascination Day (May 18), the Pint of Science (May), the European Researchers’ Night (September), the Science Week (November) and other events organized by various national and international foundations and organizations.
- Participation in the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11) and other activities related to the role of women in Science (Talent Woman, Science and Technology in Female, etc).
- Conducting talks and ateliers by our research and technical staff in schools and high schools.
- Guided tours for students from 4th year of ESO to 2nd year of Bachillerato at the IBVF. (Access the form to visit our Institute)
- Participation in interviews in audiovisual media: press, radio, and television.
