Research Interests
Most of my research career has focused on different aspects of plant molecular biology, highlighting the characterization of virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS), as well as molecular aspects of salt stress resistance in plants.
At IBVF I initially focused on starch metabolism in rice and Arabidopsis and later on the relationship between carbon metabolism and the development of this cruciferous plant, later extending my interest to the photoperiod regulation of plant biology and the role of CONSTANS, a central gene in this regulation, in several processes.
I also perform management and support tasks for researchers in training and, given my specialization in chromatographic techniques for sugar analysis, I collaborate with other groups.
I participate in scientific dissemination activities as a member of the scientific culture committee of the IBVF.
