Research Interests

My main research interest consists in understanding the mechanisms that allow plants to respond to different environmental stresses, such as high temperatures or pathogen infection. More precisely, our group focuses on stress granules (SGs), biomolecular condensates that assemble in the cytoplasm in response to stress. One of their functions is the regulation of intracellular signaling pathways, via the recruitment of proteins such as mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs). Our goal is to provide a detailed characterization of phosphorylation events that take place under different stress conditions, as well as uncovering the role of SGs in their in vivo regulation.
