Research Interests
My research is mainly focused on the area of stress granules (SGs), which was initiated during my postdoctoral stay at Peter Bozhkov’s lab (SLU, Sweden) and that I am currently developing as a young group leader at IBVF-US. The current knowledge of SGs biology is still in its infancy, especially in plants, presenting an important limitation to better understanding the dynamics and evolution of the plant response to environmental stresses. Thus, the main objetive of our lab is to understand the role of SGs in the plant stress response. The knowledge acquired after execution of our running projects will undoubtedly pave the way for developing SGs-targeting methods to develop plants with an improved resilience to the rapid climate change.
