Research Interests
My scientific career has focused on the study of gene expression and metal homeostasis, particularly in photosynthetic organisms. I have made seminal contributions to the identification of the mechanisms of resistance and gene regulation of Ni, Co, As and Cu. Currently, my main interests are metal homeostasis in photosynthetic organisms and the development of Synthetic Biology in cyanobacteria.
