PhD in Biology , University of Seville, 1986

Postdoc Researcher at the University of Arizona, USA, 1988-1989

Research Interests

My scientific activity has mainly focused on the study of structure-function relationships in proteins, the electron transfer in photosynthesis and the biochemical and metabolic response to oxidative stress. The ultimate goal is the improvement of photosynthetic primary productivity, particularly in relation to the (bio)availability of metals (copper and iron) and the redox mechanisms of the response to stress in photosynthetic organisms, currently related to the use and improvement of microalgae and cyanobacteria in biotechnology.
