Research Interests

My work focuses on adaptation mechanisms of photosynthetic microorganisms to different environmental and nutrient conditions, in particular studying redox regulation and its relationship to metabolism in cyanobacteria. Our aim is to understand how photosynthetic microorganisms control and regulate their metabolic processes, and we are particularly interested in the role of thioredoxins in this process. We are currently investigating the essential role of the thioredoxin TrxA in cellular metabolism and the reduction system of these proteins using conditional mutants.
