Research Interests
My initial studies on the cysteine biosynthesis pathway in plants were the starting point for current research focused on sulfur-mediated intracellular signaling. My main interest is determining the function of sulfur as a signaling molecule in the regulation of essential processes, such as adaptation to abiotic stress and autophagy. In particular, delve into the mechanism of action of sulfur, its interrelation with other signaling molecules in the regulation of these processes, discern if there is a correlation between the origin of sulfur in the cell and the regulated process, study the duality of sulfur as a nutrient and as a regulator, transfer the knowledge generated in model plants to plants of agronomic interest.
