Research Interests
My research investigates glycogen metabolism in cyanobacteria, primarily using the model organism Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803, and its impact on adaptation to diverse environmental conditions, with special emphasis on the crucial role of glycogen as a metabolic buffer. I am particularly focused on its interactions with central metabolism and the cellular redox state. A comprehensive understanding of these processes is essential for the efficient design of genetically modified organisms for the production of compounds of interest.
